Piper Laurie: Autobiography in stores this week!
My brother, Derick, and I had a lovely visit with Piper at her beautiful home just yesterday.
During our visit with her, she shared with us advanced copies of the autobiography she has worked on for so long; it truly is a labor of love. I have only had time to read a little, and I was held captive from the preface…there are many secrets and facets to this amazing, intelligent, beautiful and courageous person, whom we know as “Piper Laurie.” Wow!
Piper is heading off for a brief book tour this week, starting in New York (where she will do a number of interviews), Boca Raton and Dallas.
There will be some public events, details of which are forthcoming. I know she mentioned that there will be a screening of one of her films at which she will be be present on Dec 10 in Hollywood, CA, so mark your calendars for a special treat!
Her book, “Learning To Live Out Loud: A Memoir” published by Random House, will be available in stores and on Kindle November 2 or 3.
I can assure you that there is a LOT more to Piper than could ever meet the eye, and the review I saw was very good and raised my level of curiosity about learning more about her.
My mom read just a few pages late last night and was just discussing with Derick and me about what she learned and what an impact just a few pages have already made…
