Who is Paula K. Shimatsu-U.?

What does the “U.” in her last name stand for?

Ironically, it stands for Utsushigawa, her mother’s maiden name. It is what is registered on her birth certificate, so it is her legal last name. No one else, to her knowledge, uses it. She likes to give her maternal grandfather the respect to which he is overdue. He was the first Japanese photographer in Los Angeles, and had to move his studio because they were planning to build LA City Hall at that site.

Will the photos available in the Store be part of the upcoming Northwest Passages Book?

Paula is still in the process of choosing her favorite selections for the book, however most if not all of the store photos related to Paula’s work on Twin Peaks will be included in the book in some way, shape, or form.
